The purpose of this symposium is to provide advanced practice providers (nurse practitioners and physician assistants) and nurses from MSK's Alliance institutions the latest information in new developments and innovations in cancer treatment management and research. The goals are to provide the tools health care professionals need to delivery state-of-the-art collaborative team care, improve patient outcomes, and enhance the quality of life in patients with cancer.

This course is intended for nurse practitioners, physician assistants, nurses and physicians who manage the care of the oncology patient.

Live Simulcast Available

We are pleased to offer non-MSK Employees a live simulcast for the Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Alliance: 1st Advanced Practice Provider Oncology Symposium, available for attendees unable to attend this course in person. CME credit will be offered for the live simulcast and active participation is encouraged throughout. We do hope you will attend in person but understand that can sometimes be a challenge so we are happy to offer the live simulcast as an option. Register for the live simulcast.

MSK Cancer Alliance

The MSK Cancer Alliance is a collaborative relationship, leveraging bi-directional learning for mutual improvement. It is composed of MSK and a small number of high-quality, community healthcare systems seeking to be centers of excellence in their respective communities with a focus on clinical research and a culture of improvement. The MSK Cancer Alliance strives to bridge the knowledge gaps between an academic comprehensive cancer center such as MSK and community hospitals in order to help facilitate the delivery of high-quality cancer care at the community level, an important need since most cancer care is delivered in the community setting. MSK is pleased to offer a discounted rate for MSK Cancer Alliance members to attend a CME course - please see details below.

Please note that providers outside of the MSK Cancer Alliance are encouraged to attend this symposium.

Objectives
  1. Identify innovative treatment strategies for adult and pediatric cancers.
  2. Discuss the late effects of cancer treatment.
  3. Strategize optimal supportive care management for cancer patients throughout the care continuum.
  4. Comprehend the pathophysiology, signs and symptoms, and current management of various oncologic emergencies.
  5. Discuss the role of the APP in our current healthcare climate.
