Invasive Lobular Breast Cancer Training Series: LBCA Training on Invasive Lobular Carcinoma for General Radiologists

The Invasive Lobular Breast Cancer Training Series is a complimentary educational initiative hosted by the Lobular Breast Cancer Alliance. Designed to provide in-depth knowledge and practical insights into the diagnosis, treatment, and management of Invasive Lobular Carcinoma, this series features a range of presentations designed to meet the learning needs of clinicians across disciplines.

Join us on May 29 from 12:00 to 1:00 PM (Eastern Time) for our complimentary virtual presentation on LBCA Training on Invasive Lobular Carcinoma for General Radiologists. In this session, Dr. Gary Ulaner, Director of Molecular Imaging and Therapy at the Hoag Family Cancer Institute, will discuss the power of FDG PET for lobular breast cancer patients and FES PET in ER+ lobular breast cancer cases along with their appropriate uses.

This educational activity is designed for radiologists, breast imagers, and other healthcare professionals involved in breast imaging and diagnosis. It may also be of interest to trainees, technologists, and members of multidisciplinary breast care teams who support diagnostic evaluation and patient management.

1. Understand appropriate uses of FDG PET in patients with breast cancer, including initial staging, assessing treatment response, and detecting recurrent disease.
2. Understand appropriate uses of FES PET in patients with ER+ breast cancer, including selecting patients for endocrine therapies, assessing lesions difficult to biopsy, and evaluating lesions that are equivocal on other studies.
3. Understand the differences between breast cancer Not Otherwise Specified and Invasive Lobular Carcinoma and how these influence the selection of PET agents.
