Overview

This in-person only*, full-day joint symposium, dedicated to Precision Cancer Prevention and Treatment, features international-recognized faculty and opinion leaders from Memorial Sloan Kettering and Hackensack Meridian Health. Molecular innovations will be highlighted, including how these can be applied across the care continuum and integrated with clinicopathologic and lifestyle factors to prevent cancer in the broadest sense:

  • by facilitating earlier diagnosis at a more treatable stage;
  • guiding risk stratification; and
  • preventing relapse through early and targeted precision interventions for molecularly-identified, minimal residual disease.

There will be keynotes, lectures and panel discussions engaging on topics that include disease prevention at the molecular level, immunobiomarkers, liquid biopsies in oncology, parallel tumor normal sequencing to inform diagnosis and management, molecular medicine and diverse populations, using “big-data” studies to better understand the impact of molecular medicine, and the medical implications of clonal hematopoiesis of indeterminant potential. There will be ample opportunity to interact with program faculty and attendees.

Who Should Attend

This symposium is intended for physicians, advanced practice providers, nurses, researchers, and trainees interested in molecular medicine, precision cancer prevention, and targeted treatments.

Symposium Location

This symposium is hosted by the Memorial Sloan Kettering - Hackensack Meridian Health Partnership will be held at the Hackensack Meridian Health School of Medicine.

Hackensack Meridian Health School of Medicine
123 Metro Boulevard
Nutley, NJ 07110

Please note that this course will only be offered as a live in-person option; no live stream or recording will be available.

In 2016, Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center and Hackensack Meridian Health formed a clinical partnership dedicated to keeping communities across New Jersey healthy.

Hackensack Meridian Health’s integrated health care network and expansive reach coupled with Memorial Sloan Kettering’s specialized cancer expertise enable us to provide the best prevention tools and screenings. We know that early detection is the best way to prevent, treat, and cure cancer.

Objectives
  1. To appreciate how molecular data can be used to inform risk and guide interventions to prevent disease and improve outcomes.
  2. To understand the potential utility and limitations of liquid biopsies.
  3. To understand how germline data can complement tumor sequencing in cancer management.
  4. To learn how molecular data can complement healthy living programs.
  5. To understand what clonal hematopoiesis of indeterminant potential is and its medical implications.
  6. To appreciate how “big data” studies can be used to assess the impact of molecular medicine.
