Overview

Modern cancer therapy has significantly improved cancer survival, transforming several once-fatal cancers into chronic disease, but often at the expense of exposure to cardiotoxic drugs. Cardiovascular disease is now a leading cause of morbidity and mortality in cancer survivors as they are living long enough to experience later onset cardiac effects of these treatments. Cardio-oncology is a rapidly evolving field comprised of multidisciplinary care teams focused on improving the outcome of patients with cancer.

The goal of the lecture series is to provide clinically relevant, state-of-the art, best practice strategies in the evaluation and management of cardiovascular concerns during and after cancer therapy. Experts from Memorial Sloan Kettering and around the country will present an up-to-date overview on novel cancer treatments and current strategies to optimize the cardiovascular health of cancer patients. Each session, held once a month (Tuesdays from 12:00-1:15 pm), will consist of 3-4 lectures followed by a live interactive Q/A with faculty.

Register for the complete lecture series (all 11 sessions) or register for each session individually:

  • Session 1, September 15, 12:00-1:15 pm: Delivery of Cardio-Oncology Care in the Era of COVID-19 Pandemic
  • Session 2, October 13, 12:00-1:15 pm: Immunotherapy Associated CV Complications
  • Session 3, November 17, 12:00-1:15 pm: Breast Cancer: Multispecialty Collaborative Approach to Management
  • Session 4, December 15, 12:00-1:15 pm: Cardiac Imaging/Diagnostic Strategies for Early Detection of Cardiotoxicity
  • Session 5, January 12, 12:00-1:15 pm: Cardiovascular Considerations in Hematologic Malignancies
  • Session 6, February 16, 12:00-1:15 pm: Diagnosis and Management of Amyloidosis
  • Session 7, March 16, 12:00-1:15 pm: Radiation Heart Disease

By purchasing a session, or the complete series, prior to the date the session will be live, you will gain access to the live meeting and have the opportunity to interact with the speakers during a live Q&A. A link to join the meeting will be emailed to you a few days before its start. Any sessions purchased after the date of the live event, will be given access to a recording of the talks to watch in your own time. The video of each session will also be available until 03/31/22 to all who registered for that topic. CME and ABIM MOC credit will be offered for each session and a certificate will be available after a post-session evaluation is complete.
