6th Annual State-of-the-Art in Thrombosis and Hemostasis Symposium

This course is designed to provide an important annual educational forum for Hematology & Oncology doctors. The ultimate objective of this activity is to enhance physician understanding of the disease state and treatment advances for the benefit of patients.

Target Audience 

This course is directed toward Hematology Oncology doctors in practice for a yearly update on thrombosis and hemostasis as well as fellows in training programs.

Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center (MSK) is pleased to invite you to submit an abstract for oral presentation at the 6th Annual State-of-the-Art in Thrombosis and Hemostasis Symposium. Abstracts will be selected for oral presentations on the basis of their scientific merit and content quality. REQUEST FOR CASE SUBMISSIONS 

If you would like to submit a case for discussion during the course, a link will be provided in your registration confirmation email. In order to prepare your submission, we ask that you provide a BRIEF summary of your case and include key lab results. Please ensure that all identifiable PHI has been removed. If you would like to provide any relevant charts or graphs, please submit your case and then email to [email protected]. Cases should have an educational purpose. The course faculty will not be able to provide a detailed/complex consult review during the course and they will try to get through as many cases as possible. Deadline: September 8, 2017.

1. Recognize the clinical manifestations and understand the state of the art of management of different thrombocytopenia syndromes.
2. Understand the mechanisms of action and how to use the new Direct Oral Anticoagulants to maximize safety and efficacy.
3. When a patient presents with a life-threatening hemorrhage, how does one proceed in assessment and management.
4. Understand the range of hereditary and acquired thrombophilia disorders. What is the role of testing and what does one do with the results?
5. What is the complex interaction of the platelets and cancer? How does the platelet promote cancer growth?
