Overview

Systemic anticancer therapies (cytotoxic chemotherapies, targeted therapies, immunotherapies) radiation, and therapeutic transplants have resulted in remarkable improvements in patient survival. Despite this remarkable success, the majority of patients will develop toxicities of various organ systems, which may impact overall health and activities of daily living, resulting in inconsistent antineoplastic therapy, all of which may affect clinical outcome. Therefore, prevention and management of untoward events is critical for the maintenance of quality of life and the optimization of anticancer therapies.
