Overview

We are excited to invite you to join us live virtually on February 15, 2023, for the MSK 2023 Evidence-Based Practice Conference: From Bench to Bedside – Translating Evidence to Interprofessional Practice. Evidence-based practice has been shown to reduce the time in which research takes to reach the bedside. This live virtual Conference will include both podium and poster presentations designed to showcase actual examples of integrating evidence-based decision-making into daily clinical practice. Presentations will include a summary of the high-quality evidence used to make a recommendation for a change in practice, and how the change was implemented and measured. The content discussed will encompass oncology, ambulatory care, interprofessional collaboration, leadership and technology.

Keynote Speaker

Dr. Katy Lanz is a healthcare executive with over two decades of national clinical and operational successes. Katy is the Founder & Principal of TopSight Partners, a clinical design advisory firm that supports companies hoping to create, evolve, and scale clinical services. She is currently a senior advisor to Dollar General, supporting their rural health initiative and Personal Care Medical Associates, advancing their national geriatric value based initiatives. Most recently, Katy led as Chief Clinical Officer for Aspire Health, from start-up to becoming the largest palliative practice in the country.

The first 10 years of Katy's career were at the bedside of the seriously ill. She is a nationally awarded clinical expert, mentor, fellow in palliative care, triple board certified, and leadership/business trained through Vanderbilt's Inaugural DNP program and Duke's Clinical Leadership Fellowship. Katy has led two demonstrations and contracts with the Center for Medicare and Medicaid Innovation and presently serves on the board of the National Hospice and Palliative Care Organization.

This Conference is designed for healthcare professionals of all disciplines including nurses, advanced practice providers, physicians, pharmacists, dietitians, social work, physical therapists, occupational therapists, respiratory therapists, or any other licensed clinical practitioner interested in learning more about evidence-based healthcare and how to integrate it into their practice.

Live Virtual Format

This live virtual Conference will be delivered using Zoom. We encourage all attendees to download the Zoom app prior to the start of the course (zoom.us/download). CME and ANCC credit will be offered for this live virtual program. Detailed access and credit instructions will be emailed to attendees prior to the start of the Conference.

Online Syllabus

Registered attendees will receive access to an online syllabus after the Conference, which includes select PDFs of the faculty presentations (slides) and recorded videos from the program. MSK CME will email attendees when the syllabus becomes available.

  1. Identify methods used to gather high-quality evidence in order to make a practice change
  2. Recognize successful implementation strategies for change management
  3. Illustrate the importance of demonstrating the return on investment for evidence-based change
  4. Discuss strategies used to translate research into daily practice

  • Abstract authors whose submissions have been accepted will be sent a discount code for a reduced registration rate in their acceptance notification which will be sent out on November 22, 2022.

If you wish to cancel your participation in this course, you must email [email protected] at least seven (7) days prior to the start of the course, and your refund will be subject to a $25 administrative fee. Cancellations or no-shows within seven (7) days of the course are not eligible for a refund. Please note that if it has been more than 120 days since payment was processed, a W9 form must be submitted in order process your refund and your refund will be issued in the form of a check payment. Refunds are not subject to tax. You may substitute another registrant in your place at any time by contacting [email protected] with the appropriate information.
