Overview

This two and half-day multidisciplinary course will focus on the management of prostate cancer from diagnosis through castration resistant disease. The course will include lectures, panel discussions, and case presentations addressing topics such as:

  • an overview of systemic therapy: hormonal agents, chemotherapy, targeted therapies, and theranostics;
  • initial risk assessment using routinely available clinical information;
  • genomic classifiers, germline testing, and molecular imaging;
  • risk-based management options for clinically localized prostate cancer including active surveillance,
  • focal therapy, radical prostatectomy, and radiation therapy;
  • defining oligometastatic prostate cancer and multidisciplinary approaches to the management of the local tumor, metastatic sites, and systemic therapy;
  • management of local recurrence after radical prostatectomy and radiation therapy;
  • prevention and management of treatment related toxicities.

Additionally, we invite in-person attendees to join the course faculty for a networking reception on Thursday from 5:15-7:00 pm in the lobby of Zuckerman Research Center.

Who Should Attend

This course is intended for urologists, radiation oncologists, radiologists, medical oncologists, pathologists and other healthcare professionals interested in prostate cancer management.

In-person or Virtual

We invite attendees to join us in-person at Zuckerman Research Center in New York City for this conference. All in-person attendees must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 at least two (2) weeks prior to this event and upload a copy of their COVID-19 vaccination card during registration (details below). We are also pleased to offer a virtual option (via Zoom) for attendees unable to join us in-person.

  1. Explain the risk assessment of prostate cancer.
  2. Evaluate the selection and management of patients for active surveillance.
  3. Review techniques, performance, and outcomes from radical prostatectomy and radiation therapy for clinically localized prostate cancer.
  4. Review management of oligometastatic prostate cancer.
  5. Discuss management of hormone sensitive metastatic and castration resistant metastatic prostate cancer.
