Overview

Hematopoietic stem cell transplant (HSCT) and cellular therapy is a hyper-specialized field within the already specialized pediatric oncology world. This necessitates providers to stay current on the rapidly evolving science behind the care of these complex patients.

This one-day symposium will have a focus on topics curated for advanced practice providers, including a mix of foundations of HSCT in addition to current clinical developments in the field. The focused topics will include advances in GVHD therapies, unique disease processes that are being transplanted more often in the current era, diagnostic findings of HSCT complications, and new clinical trials that our patients are undergoing including JSP for SCID, TCR modified T-cell therapy for sarcoma patients and expanded cord blood transplant for multiply relapsed leukemia.

Who Should Attend

This symposium is intended for advanced practice providers who will be caring primarily or be involved in the care of pediatric hemopoietic stem cell transplant patients.

We are pleased to offer complimentary registration for residents, fellows, APP students, and nursing students to attend this course. Please see details below.

Live Virtual Symposium

This program will be delivered using Zoom. We encourage all attendees to download the Zoom app prior to the start of the course (zoom.us/download). CME credit will be offered for this live virtual program. Detailed access and credit instructions will be emailed to attendees prior to the start of the course.

IMPORTANT: Access details, including a link to Zoom and more, are in the confirmation email you will receive after registration.

  2. Identify the how and why hematopoietic stem cell transplant conditioning regimens are selected
  3. Describe the pathophysiology and clinical management of common hematopoietic stem cell transplant complications and toxicities
  4. Gain knowledge of the new advancements in care of pediatric hematopoietic stem cell transplant patients, including new types of transplants and other alternatives such as gene therapy
  5. Summarize the mechanism of acute and chronic GVHD including prophylactic strategies, treatment (including new research based therapies) and supportive care
