Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center and MediSys Health Network present the inaugural Achieving Health Equity in Cancer Care Conference.

This one-day complimentary conference will be an opportunity for researchers and all healthcare providers, including faculty, advanced practice providers, nurses, social workers, case managers, trainees, and students as well as support staff to learn about ways to address the social drivers of health and improve cancer care.

The program will consist of lectures and panel discussions with leaders in the field. The lectures will provide institutional context for health equity work, share the quality of care outcomes and metrics, and describe interventions and policies that can be used to optimize health equity. Speakers will cover topics ranging from healthcare access to patient navigation, and enrollment in clinical trials.

This conference is sponsored by Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center and MediSys Health Network and supported by the City College of New York-Memorial Sloan Kettering Partnership Program for Cancer Research, as well as MSK's Ralph Lauren Center and the David M. Rubenstein Center for Pancreatic Cancer Research.

Who Should Attend

This conference is intended for all researchers, healthcare providers, and support staff with an interest in increasing health equity and is complimentary for all attendees.

Registered attendees will receive access to an online syllabus after the conference, which includes select PDFs of the faculty presentations (slides) and recordings from the course. Attendees must check in during the live program to receive access to the syllabus.

Objectives
  1. Address social drivers of health as a way to achieve health equity
  2. Implement programming to support overcoming barriers to care
  3. Discuss SDOH impacts in the patient, caregivers and the clinical team

Included in registration, attendees will be provided continental breakfast, lunch, and refreshment breaks. Please contact cme@mskcc.org at least one week prior to the course if you have any special dietary requests or require any specific accommodations.

Successful completion of this CME activity, which includes participation in the evaluation component, enables the participant to earn up to 7.25 Medical Knowledge MOC points in the American Board of Internal Medicine’s (ABIM) Maintenance of Certification (MOC) program. Participants will earn MOC points equivalent to the amount of CME credits claimed for the activity. It is the CME activity provider’s responsibility to submit participant completion information to ACCME for the purpose of granting ABIM MOC credit.
