Overview

Technological advancements revolutionized our ability to diagnose and treat thoracic diseases bronchoscopically. Endobronchial ultrasound is the standard of care in the diagnosis and staging of thoracic malignancy as well as benign diseases. Robotic bronchoscopy can allow the access of peripheral pulmonary lesions with unprecedented precision and accuracy. Optimally performing these procedures, in appropriate patients, is paramount and requires proper education and training. This on demand includes a special emphasis on integrating advanced imaging modality during the robotic bronchoscopy and reviewing video of recorded live cases.

Expert faculty review these crucial advanced diagnostic and staging procedures and how to optimize performance in this on demand program. Recorded lectures from the live course, which took place on September 8, 2023, include:

  • KEYNOTE PRESENTATION: Bronchoscopic Ablation of Peripheral Lung Nodules — Kelvin Lau, BA, MA(Ox), BM, BCh, DPhil, FRCS(CTh)
  • EBUS TBNA — Robert P. Lee, MD, FCCP, DAABIP
  • Cryobiopsy Part 1: EBUS Cryobiopsy — Or Kalchiem-Dekel, MD
  • Robotic Assisted Bronchoscopy Part 1 — Mohit Chawla, MD, FCCP, DAABIP
  • Robotic Assisted Bronchoscopy Part 2 — Chris Manley, MD
  • Advanced Imaging for Robotic Bronchoscopy — Bryan Husta, MD, FCCP, DAABIP
  • Thoracic Surgeon’s Perspective on Robotic Bronchoscopy — Matthew Bott, MD
  • Implementing New Technology in Your Practice — Ashutosh Sachdeva, MBBS
  • Operationalizing Change — Amy Caramore, BSN, RN, CEN, Matthew Kennedy, MA, RN, CNML, and Nicole Baymer, RN, AS, CGRN
  • Nursing Perspective and Training — Jacqueline Mcavoy, BSN, RN, ONC and Veronica Anderson, BSN, RN, CCRN
  • Cryobiopsy Part 2: Transbronchial Cryobiopsy — Bryan Husta, MD, FCCP, DAABIP
  • Cytology and Molecular Analysis — Darren Buonocore, MD
  • Robotic Bronchoscopy Case Video Review — Chris Manley, MD and Or Kalchiem-Dekel, MD

Who Would Benefit from this Offering

This program is intended for practicing Pulmonologists, Intensivists, and Thoracic Surgeons, as well as trainees, RNs, APPs, RTs, and cytotechnologists, interested in advancing their understanding of advanced bronchoscopy for diagnostics, including robotic-assisted bronchoscopy, radial endobronchial ultrasound, and other navigational bronchoscopy, and cytologic specimen processing.
