Overview

This complimentary inaugural research conference of the Center for Implementation Research in Cancer in Later Life (CIRCL) is designed to advance the dissemination and implementation of behavioral health interventions for older adults with cancer and their caregivers. This conference reflects the center's mission to bridge the gap between behavioral intervention research and clinical care for older adults with cancer and their caregivers by integrating dissemination and implementation (D&I) science across all stages of intervention development.

Program highlights include:

  • A keynote presentation by Dr. Ashley Wilder Smith of the National Institutes of Health on the importance of D&I science in advancing cancer and aging research, driven by the growing older adult population and the high prevalence of behavioral health needs among older adults with cancer.

  • A panel discussion featuring leading D&I researchers who share their current work, practical insights, and successful strategies for conducting implementation research in partnership with community organizations.

  • Presentations from CIRCL Pilot Award recipients highlighting innovative research projects focused on behavioral activation and reducing loneliness among older adults with cancer.

This on demand activity is intended for physicians, researchers, and other healthcare professionals interested in D&I science and behavioral health interventions for older adults with cancer.

Objectives
  1. Describe the relevance of dissemination and implementation (D&I) science principles and methods to research on behavioral health in older adults with cancer and their caregivers.
  2. Apply D&I science methods to their work with older adults with cancer and their caregivers.

Registration

This on demand program is complimentary for all. To access the course content, select the Register tab or click here.

Once registration is complete, all recorded presentations and instructions for claiming credit will be available under the Course Content tab. Access to the course content and the opportunity to claim credit will remain available through May 31, 2027.
