Overview

Radiologic imaging affects all oncology patients. Designed to address a learning gap in Advanced Practice Provider knowledge on radiologic interpretation, this on demand provides a general overview of radiologic interpretation in the oncology population with focus on imaging of the chest, including pediatric considerations. Modalities discussed include X-Ray and ultrasound computed tomography (CT) scan.

Target Audience

This on demand program is designed for nurse practitioners, physician assistants, nurse practitioner students, physician assistant students, clinical nurse specialists, nurses, radiology assistants, certified registered nurse anesthetists, and physicians. Please note that registration for this program is complimentary for residents, fellows, APP students, and nursing students (details below).

  1. Gain a basic understanding of the principles and interpretation of common imaging modalities and translate the knowledge learned to clinical practice
  2. Identify the clinical indications for and selection criteria of various imaging modalities
  3. Recognize common abnormalities on various radiology examinations
  4. Address challenges and limitations of the various imaging modalities
  5. Discuss the differential diagnosis for common radiographic findings
  6. Explain the role of imaging in cancer screening, staging, and surveillance
