Overview

Systemic anticancer therapies (cytotoxic chemotherapies, targeted therapies, immunotherapies) have resulted in remarkable improvements in patient survival. Despite this remarkable success, the majority of patients will develop toxicities of various organ systems, which may impact overall health and activities of daily living, resulting in inconsistent antineoplastic therapy, all of which may affect clinical outcome. Therefore, prevention and management of untoward events is critical for the maintenance of quality of life and the optimization of anticancer therapies.

The target audience for this symposium includes MDs, PAs, NPs, RNs, Pharmacists, and other professionals treating cancer patients and their associated symptoms.

Symposium Highlights

  • Therapy-related adverse events will affect the majority of cancer patients, resulting in increased cost, inconsistent dosing, and decreased quality of life.
  • With increased survival and patients living longer on therapy, adverse events affecting quality of life and clinical outcome command attention.
  • Lectures focused on immune-related adverse events will describe clinical presentation, diagnosis, and management strategies for the oncology healthcare provider.
  • Up-to-date information will be presented on adverse event mechanisms and management from specialists in the most commonly affected organ systems.
  • Practical strategies to maintain patients’ quality of life and dose intensity will be highlighted for the most frequently occurring events.

Live Simulcast Available*

We are pleased to offer a live simulcast option for the 2019 Annual Cancer Treatment-Related Adverse Events Symposium.
