Overview

This two-day live Symposium at Memorial Sloan Kettering focuses on the surgical and multidisciplinary management of colorectal cancer.

Thursday, November 9 will focus on the surgical management of colorectal cancer. The morning will feature live robotic surgery including total mesorectal excision (TME) and complete mesocolic excision (CME), accompanied by technical commentary from experienced colorectal surgeons. The afternoon session begins with expert MSK and international colorectal surgeons discussing the modern surgical approaches to complex colorectal cancers followed by a multidisciplinary tumor board focused on these challenging surgical scenarios.

Friday, November 10, will begin with the Stuart Quan Lecture, presented by Dr. Zsofia Stadler, an expert on hereditary colorectal cancers. Next, a multidisciplinary panel will discuss the management of appendiceal, hereditary and colitis-associated cancers. The morning will end with a Nonoperative Management Workshop, bringing together MSK and international experts to discuss the nuts of bolts of the Watch-and-Wait strategy, its role in the modern management of rectal cancer, and new areas of discovery. The afternoon begins with presentations on the most impactful clinical trials in colorectal cancer from 2023. Finally, a multidisciplinary panel of MSK and international colorectal specialists will explore the clinical application of the topics discussed throughout the Symposium.
