Overview

Join us for the 10th anniversary of Advances in Colorectal Oncology, a milestone event dedicated to the latest evidence-based strategies and multidisciplinary approaches transforming the care of patients with colorectal cancer. Designed to enhance clinical practice, foster collaboration, and improve patient outcomes, this program brings together nationally and internationally recognized experts to explore advances across the continuum of colorectal cancer care.

The symposium will highlight both surgical and multidisciplinary management through a dynamic combination of live case demonstrations, expert-led lectures, tumor board discussions, and interactive sessions. Participants will gain practical insights into current challenges, emerging technologies, and evolving treatment paradigms that are shaping the future of the field.

Program highlights include:

  • Live surgical cases streamed directly from MSK operating rooms, featuring expert commentary, case discussions, and supplemental video presentations. An anatomically based review of contemporary surgical techniques in colorectal cancer.

  • Surgical considerations in the management of metastatic colorectal cancer.

  • Role of immunotherapy in MMR deficient and MMR proficient colorectal cancer.

  • New targeted therapies in the treatment of metastatic colorectal cancer.

  • A focused update on appendiceal neoplasms. Management of colorectal cancer in patients with inflammatory bowel disease.

  • Multidisciplinary tumor boards and complex case discussions.

  • Key findings from landmark clinical trials.

  • The annual Stuart H.Q. Quan Lecture, delivered this year by Karuna Ganesh, MD, PhD.

  • A new dedicated breakout session, The Robotic APP in Colorectal Surgery, highlighting the role of the advanced practice provider as a first assistant in robotic colorectal surgery and exploring strategies for developing a dedicated robotic surgery team.

  • A special 10th Anniversary Reception and Networking Event celebrating a decade of progress and collaboration in colorectal oncology.

This symposium is designed for medical oncologists, radiation oncologists, interventional radiologists, colorectal surgeons, hepatopancreatobiliary surgeons, surgical oncologists, gastroenterologists, pathologists, advanced practice providers, nurses, trainees, and other members of the multidisciplinary oncology care team with an interest in colorectal cancer. We are pleased to offer flexible learning options, with the opportunity to participate live in person or virtually, or register for on demand access to the recorded program.
