Overview

The rapid pace of innovation in oncology and surgical care continues to transform cancer treatment, creating an ongoing need for education that supports evidence-based practice and multidisciplinary collaboration. This two-day virtual program examines current and emerging advances in surgical oncology across the cancer care continuum.

Through expert-led presentations and case-based discussions, participants will explore advances in perioperative optimization and management, integration of minimally invasive approaches in surgical practice, and systematic methods to early surgical recovery as well as complex surgical emergencies. The program will also address issues shaping the future of surgical oncology including specialized workforce development, healthcare equity, and innovation in clinical practice. Through participation in this program, learners will gain practical, evidence-based knowledge that can be applied to optimize clinical decision-making, strengthen interdisciplinary collaboration, and improve outcomes for patients undergoing surgical oncology care.

This symposium is intended for physicians, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, certified registered nurse anesthetists (CRNAs), nurses, and other healthcare professionals who care for or collaborate in the management of patients undergoing surgical oncology treatment.

Flexible Learning Options: Attend Live Virtually or Access On Demand

Live Virtual Participation: Attend the symposium in real time on October 28–29, 2026, and engage with faculty through live Q&A sessions and discussions. Participants may claim credit for the live activity and will receive access to the online course syllabus following the symposium. Register for Live Participation

On Demand Access: View recorded presentations and complete the enduring activity at your convenience through May 31, 2027. On demand content will become available a few weeks after the live symposium. Participants will be notified when access is available and may claim credit upon completion of the enduring activity.   5. Describe multidisciplinary and collaborative care models that optimize outcomes for surgical oncology patients.
  6. Discuss the management of common surgical oncology emergencies and the role of consult services.
  7. Assess evolving trends in independent practice enhancing professional development opportunities.
