Invasive Lobular Carcinoma: What Primary Care Physicians and Obstetricians / Gynecologists Need to Know

The Invasive Lobular Breast Cancer Training Series is a complimentary educational initiative hosted by the Lobular Breast Cancer Alliance. Designed to provide in-depth knowledge and practical insights into the diagnosis, treatment, and management of Invasive Lobular Carcinoma, this series features a range of presentations designed to meet the learning needs of clinicians across disciplines.

Join us on October 5th from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM (Eastern Time) for our complimentary virtual presentation on Invasive Lobular Carcinoma: What Primary Care Physicians and Obstetricians / Gynecologists Need to Know. In this session, Pooja P. Advani, MBBS, MD, from the Mayo Clinic, will discuss will discuss the unique presentation, challenges with standard imaging techniques, unique metastatic patterns, and general ways to support the clinical needs of patients newly diagnosed, in active treatment, or living with a metastatic ILC diagnosis.

This educational activity is designed for Clinicians working in primary care and/or OB/GYN settings. It may also be of interest to trainees, technologists, and members of multidisciplinary breast care teams who support diagnostic evaluation and patient management.

1. Provide an overview of the unique biological characteristics of invasive lobular breast cancer (ILC)
2. Outline specific issues related to ILC detection and screening and supporting patients during active treatment
3. Detail the unique considerations for ILC long-term follow-up and detection of local or distant recurrence; unique metastatic ILC sites; and ILC risk factors and genetics
