Overview

This course is designed for oncology clinicians, including oncologists, nurses, advanced practice professionals, social workers, psychiatrists, and psychologists, who treat cancer patients with psychological and psychiatric distress. This CME course will help clinicians acquire clinical-relevant, cutting-edge knowledge in psycho-oncology using clinical scenarios in an interactive format.

The course will focus on key issues in psycho-oncology such as substance use disorders, delirium, symptom management in different cancer types, couples therapy, caregiver interventions, bereavement counseling, and care of the older patient with cancer. Incorporation of a case-based format and the use of interactive questions and answers to guide focused commentary and presentations by panel members will advance learning. The case scenarios chosen for presentation will highlight the challenges encountered by busy clinicians when faced with distressed patients and/or caregivers.

The target audience includes Psychiatrists,Psycho-oncologists, Oncologists, Palliative Care Physicians, Physician Assistants, Nurse Practitioners, Nurses, Psychologists, Social Workers and Counselors.

Live Simulcast Available

We are pleased to offer all non-MSK Employees a live simulcast for the Personalized Psycho-Oncology: A Case-Based Approach course, available for attendees unable to attend this course in person. CME credit will be offered for the live simulcast and active participation is encouraged throughout. We do hope you will attend in person but understand that can sometimes be a challenge so we are happy to offer the live simulcast as an option. Registration for the simulcast is required; to register, please select the "Live Simulcast" option during course registration.


Objectives
  1. Participants will improve their knowledge and competence on a wide variety of psycho-oncology topics including substance use disorders, delirium, symptom management in different cancer types, couples therapy, caregiver interventions, bereavement counseling, and care of the older patient with cancer.

Cancellation Policy

Registration for the simulcast is non-refundable.

For all other orders, if you cancel your participation in this course, your registration fee, less a $75 administrative fee, will be refunded when email notification is received by the MSK Office of Continuing Medical Education (MSK CME) at least 7 days prior to the first day of the course ([email protected]). Please note that registration for the simulcast is non-refundable.

Cancellations or no-shows after this date are not eligible for a refund. MSK CME reserves the right to cancel or postpone any course due to unforeseen circumstances. In the unlikely event we must cancel or postpone this course, we will refund the registration fee in full, but are not responsible for any related costs, charges, or expenses to participants, including fees incurred by airline/travel/lodging agencies.
