Overview

Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center and MediSys Health Network are pleased to present a complimentary on-demand version of the 2024 Achieving Health Equity in Cancer Care conference, originally held live on November 15, 2024. This dynamic annual program unites leading experts across diverse fields, institutions, and specialties to share strategies for improving health equity in communities underserved by limited access to healthcare.

The 2024 conference featured speakers from various institutions—including the National Institutes of Health, the New York City Department of Health, academic centers, and community hospitals—to share their diverse perspectives and expertise, highlighting many different ways to improve health equity within individual practices and institutions. Session topics included innovative ways to deliver healthcare to communities that are underserved, workforce diversification, clinical trial diversification, and innovation in tobacco cessation and lung cancer screening. For more information about the program, including a full list of faculty and presentations, view the brochure from the live conference.

This complimentary program is open to all healthcare professionals interested in advancing health equity, including physicians, advanced practice providers, trainees, nurses, patient navigators, social workers, and case managers.

Objectives
At the conclusion of this program, learners will be able to:

  1. Discuss current and ongoing work being done in various health equity initiatives
  2. Strategize how to implement health equity programs in their own practice
  3. Describe how various institutions are tackling the same health equity initiatives
