Overview

Shaping Tomorrow: Advancing Cancer Care and Research for Adolescents and Young Adults is a complimentary symposium that brings together leading experts to share the latest research and innovative treatments tailored to the unique needs of the AYA cancer population. This comprehensive program provides cutting-edge insights to advance care and improve patient outcomes. The symposium will center on three core themes:

  • The integration of biological discoveries into clinical application

  • Innovations in supportive services to enhance quality of life

  • Emerging interventional studies.

Attendees will benefit from dynamic group discussions and interactive breakout sessions led by renowned experts in the field. The program also features valuable opportunities for professional growth and community building, including networking opportunities, a thought-provoking keynote address, and special sessions designed to support interprofessional care teams.

Please note that this program will be held in person only—there is no virtual attendance option—and will take place at Memorial Sloan Kettering’s Zuckerman Research Center. A networking reception will take place at the conclusion of the program from 4:30 to 6:00 PM. Please indicate your attendance by RSVPing during the registration process.

This symposium is intended for senior and junior faculty, researchers, and healthcare professionals across multiple disciplines who are engaged in advancing adolescent and young adult cancer care. We hope you will join us as we explore the evolving landscape of AYA cancer care and work together to improve outcomes for this unique patient population.

Objectives
  1. Identify and discuss recent advancements in translational biology relevant to AYA oncology, with a focus on how discoveries are informing treatment strategies.
  2. Evaluate current best practices in supportive care for AYA patients, with a focus on psychosocial support, symptom management, and enhancing quality of life during treatment and survivorship.
  3. Examine ongoing interventional studies in AYA oncology, focusing on innovative treatment approaches, clinical trial design, and their potential impact on improving outcomes for this patient population.
